Good Faeries

The Tree Elf

This little being is known as the “Tree Elf” but it also has been known as an “Elf Tyke” because it is a creature of dreams and magic. The small being has been spotted in the forests of northern Scotland, and also in areas of Norway. The most common of this race are a light beige in color, and usually wear a bright green, full body suit, which you can see in the picture above. Since most sightings of them have been for very short periods of time, their daily activities are not known, but they are believed to be farmers. Many are thought to be witch doctors who create herbal mixtures to cure their own race, but also the animals of the forest who they look after.

The Tuljin Pixie

The Tuljin Pixie is a cousin of the well known Pixie of children’s literature. Its appearance is that of a small, huminoid figure, usually of the female sex, bearing silvery wings (usually 2, but occasionally 4) on her back. The wings work similar to that of a humming bird, allowing the Pixie to hover in one spot by flapping the tiny wings at tremendous speeds. The Tuljin Pixie lives in many parts of the world, including the United States, but is usually found on small, crystal clear mountain lakes, where they water dance with the dragon flies. If you are ever to catch a glimpse of the Tuljin Pixie while fishing in the streams and lakes of the high country, hold very still, because they know you are there by scent. If you avoid sudden movements they may keep doing what you found them doing and you can get a good eye full of the little magical being.

The Mushroom Faerie

The Mushroom Faerie is not known as well as many other faeries of the forest, but we do know that they reside in the peaceful mushroom groves and gardens of Europe. The Mushroom Faerie makes it’s home inside tree trunks, underground, or sometimes if it finds a big enough mushroom, it will dig it out and make it’s home inside the mushroom where it is protected from the winter winds. The Mushroom Faerie looks similar to other Pixies, but in fact is not related at all. The Mushroom Faerie only bears two wings on it’s back, and also is not a childish, happy go lucky faerie as are many Pixies. Instead, the Mushroom Faerie spends most of it’s time reading from books, magazines, or anything it can find that humans have left behind in the groves or gardens. Since the Mushroom Faerie reads from our books, one would think they speak our languages, but there have been no reports of anyone talking to a Mushroom Faerie.

The Woodland Gnome

Gnomes are one of the most well known, and documented faeries of the forest. Many, many years ago, some Gnomes even were found working inside the home of Human’s, but this was usually a mutual agreement, because the Gnome, being as quick, strong, and smart as he is could escape at any moment. The Gnome is usually 15 cm tall, but with its cap on it appears much taller. Their feet are somewhat pigeon toed which gives them an extra edge on speed and agility through the wood and grass.

The Gnome really has no great enemy accept the troll which he can outsmart in seconds. Most Gnomes are 7 times stronger than a man, can run at speeds of 35 miles per hour, and have better sight than a hawk. These abilities help the Gnome to do many things, such as find wounded, dying animals for which they feel they are responsible for. Because of their love for animals, all the animals of the forest are the Gnome’s friends and are willing to help him at any time. If you see a Gnome, he might very well be riding on the back of a fox, flying with a hawk, or even riding on the back of a frog!
